Book lover, performer, day dreamer.

From the beginning
I have loved books my entire life. My mom use to read to me as a baby, and she swears it was the only time I ever stopped crying. As soon as I could read on my own, I read everything I could get my hands on. I devoured every story. Books are the reason I'm currently on the journey to become an educator. I am currently a Secondary Education (emphasis in English Literature) and Leadership Studies student at Kansas State University. I'm involved in choirs and musicals in and around Manhattan, academic clubs, and the music honors fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota. But no matter how involved and busy I get, I always make time to read for at least a few minutes a day. I have a passion for reading and I truly believe that books can change the world. I want to do my little part in that by teaching students how books fit into their lives. Reading is difficult for some students, but they deserve to experience the magic of books just as much as the students like me, the ones for whom reading comes naturally. By showing students how literature can fit into their lives, I hope to help create a new generation of readers and writers.
